Random computer tip: Google Reader

I like to think of myself as a bit of a computer geek, so from time to time, I’ll post something that has made my computing experience either.

For my first entry: Google Reader.

If you follow a lot of RSS feeds (blogs, news, sports, etc.), perhaps you use a stand-alone application or simply view bookmarks in your favorite browser.

While those solutions have their strengths, I’ve found Google Reader to be amazing for the following reasons:

1. No need to sync bookmarks between computers, because they are stored online and accessible from any computer with an internet connection.

2. Ease of use and understandable interface.

3. Social bookmarking. You can share links with any of your friends who use google reader simply by clicking “share.”

FYI, this requires a gmail account, which you really should be using anyway 🙂

Here is a brief tutorial.
